Celebrating World Microbiome Day!
Jun 27, 2026
At Microhealth we’re happy to celebrate the incredible world of microbiomes today! Did you know that healthy soil microbiomes don’t just benefit crops and nature, but that they potentially also enhance the nutritional quality of our food and might even influence the human gut microbiome?
That’s exactly what we’re passionate about finding out. The connection between soil, plants, and human health is profound. A thriving soil microbiome could lead to more nutrient dense crops, richer in micronutrients and bioactive compounds that support our well-being, and could even support our gut microbiomes. By fostering healthier microbiomes in our fields, we can grow food that nourishes both the planet and people.
We’re exploring how plant microbiomes can be optimized to produce food that’s not just more sustainable by reducing the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides (see MiCRop), but is also more beneficial for human health.
